3D Secure
3D Secure is a service that enhances security by providing additional authentication for online payments. It's provided by the card-issuing bank and is known as "Verified by Visa" for VISA and "Mastercard SecureCode" for Mastercard. This service enhances the security of online transactions by verifying the identity of the cardholder to ensure that only the cardholder can make payments.
How 3D Secure (3DS) authentication works:
Identity Verification: When you make a payment at an online merchant, you will be connected to the 3D Secure system of your card-issuing bank.
Additional Authentication: Verify your identity using additional authentication methods provided by the card-issuing bank. This can be accomplished in a variety of ways, including entering a password, using a one-time password (OTP), or biometric authentication.
Payment Authorization: Once your identity is verified, your payment will be approved.
